Special Needs Dog Requires Orthopedic Surgery
Grayling, Michigan – Frieda is a four-year-old bulldog mix who’s stolen the hearts of everyone at AuSable Valley Animal Shelter. Picked up as a stray in late 2021, Frieda needs critical surgery on both of her back legs to allow her to live the wonderful life she deserves. Without surgery, Frieda’s life will be one of constant discomfort and pain.
On top of that, Frieda is deaf…a condition she was most likely born with. This hasn’t seemed to affect her good nature and loving disposition, and Frieda has adapted well to hand commands (and visual treat stimulation!).
On June 1, 2022, Frieda will undergo surgery at Michigan State University’s Small Animal Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. Cost of this much-needed medical procedure is $10,000.
AuSable Valley Animal Shelter has launched a GoFund Me page with a short (2:30) video and more information.
